Don't you just love it when you manage to easily attract just the right people into your business circle who totally get you and your product and love to do the tasks you hate and vice versa? I am always amazed at the power of a bunch of like-minded creative entrepreneurs who put their heads together to support each other's business. This is happening effortlessly for me lately.
Just yesterday at the WBON conference, we broke into small groups for a brainstorming exercise. I decided to join a group talking about email list building. In my group of 5 women, there were two other small business owners who were both former IBMers and completely understood the challenge of developing a business while working full time. Furthermore, they were creative, happy, smart, successful role models who made the hard choice to ditch the corporate world to build their dreams. What are the chances that in a huge conference room of women, I end up in small group with 2 other women who were recently in the same shoes I'm now in? Needless to say, we all clicked and made plans to meet for lunch in the near future.
I'll write more about these women's businesses later. I am also brewing an article about balancing online networking with in-person networking and how powerful it can be when you do BOTH in balance.
Right now I must get to the bank and deposit those shortbread checks. Business is great. MY BNI colleagues are keeping me busy baking regularly. Mother's Day is next week. And Ann Z. is baking around the clock while writing technical documents about microelectronics for IBM in her wacky, but fun world of work. I sure am glad I don't have to worry about my web site, PR, or my ezine. Why? Because I attracted the perfect person who not only is a whiz in those areas, but someone I'd chose as a friend even if we didn't work together. That's a huge gift for me. I want more and I'm getting it...easily!
I am grateful to my amazing circle of friends and colleagues. I love it when we all get to do what we love and everyone gets something out of it.

Don't you just love those moments of serendipity?
