Guess you all thought I disappeared from the face of the earth. Nah, I've been super busy getting organized, tending to my family, and preparing for the Fine Food and Wine Festival (yesterday, 9/17/06 at the Shelburne Farms Coach Barn). What an amazing day it was...perfect, crisp early autumn weather, ideal helpers to hand out shortbread samples, and praise from all who stopped by to sample my wares. I collected a couple handfuls of names and e-mail addresses for my mailing list and handed out every business card I brought. We shot some great photos of the event, which will be available in the October issue of Short Bites (go to www.vermontshortbread.com to sign up for my FREE e-zine if you're not a current Short Bites reader. I guarantee it's a fun reading experience.). Most importantly, I fell in love with my business and my customers all over again by spending the afternoon chatting with foodies in a spectacular setting in a historic coach barn on Lake Champlain while sipping pinot noir and sampling fine cheeses, Vermont smoked meats, and amazing desserts (yes, it's true - there are wonderful desserts other than shortbread out there!). It doesn't get much better than that.
I haven't forgotten about the shortbread honor roll from the August shortbread challenge. It's on the to-do list for this week. I haven't forgotten about my dear customers and friends. My personal world demanded a whole bunch of TLC in the past few weeks.
I'm here: alive and kicking hard with lots of brilliant ideas ruminating in my busy mind.
Come back soon and we'll sip pinot noir together.
Love,
Ann Zuccardy (aka The Shortbread Chick)

If only it wouldn't be such a drastic change to move my family from Joisey to VT... You sound great. Rock on, sistah!

I'm always an Ann Fan.
I am so unbelievably impressed with your website and blog and all you've done. Ann's shortbread is heaven on earth. Wow, has your life taken off or what?

Typepad tip I discovered. Since automated archive links on side only go back 10 months max, you can just add archives.html to the end of the URL and it will show them all...
