Ahh, the tantalizing aroma of Ann's home-baked shortbread. Crumbly, chewy, with a hint of your favorite flavor spread thinly between two layers of buttery-rich crust. Place your order at our website and we'll box up and mail you a fresh one in no time.

I completely agree with your comments about technical writing becoming more human. Certainly companies are finally starting to pay attention to the "customer experience" and writing this stuff in a simpler manner. I was just battling the barren, technobabble instructions on my new digital recorder. But I also think - as a communications professional - we also have to bring the human touch to everyday communications. We've lost something to email and text messaging -- become obsessed with acronyms that are meaningless without their other letters. We as humans need to get back to the simple basics of having something to say, then saying it succinctly, simply, and with passion.
