During the summer months when there are no big gift-giving holidays, our busy shortbread marketers like to focus on the wedding favor market.
Last week, we did shortbread for a New York City bride-to-be. She chose our 4" round shorties (raspberry jam filled - our most popular) after we talked on the phone and I sent her a sampling of our shortbread offerings. We customized the label with her and her fiance's name and the date of their wedding.
Our wedding favor page on the Vermont Shortbread Company web site needs re-vamping, we know. And I think we need to offer more selections for brides. (I'm working on it.) The chocolate drizzled shortbread hearts we did for Valentine's Day would be perfect for wedding favors, however I worry about shipping this product in the summer months as the chocolate could melt and make a mess. So, for now, we'll have limit shortbread hearts to local Vermont brides to whom we can deliver in person and ensure a perfect product.
I'm also playing with a maple flavored shortbread heart in a little white wedding favor box. This would ship well and of course, maple and Vermont go together like hmmmm...shortbread and weddings?
If you're a bride-to-be looking for an edible wedding favor, give us a shout. Got an idea for a new shortbread wedding favor? Let's hear it! Just email us at jsaz@gmavt.net with "Shortbread Wedding Favors" in the subject line. We're eager to take part in your special day and hear what shortbread wedding favors YOU want.

pretty neat idea I never would of thought of. When you can start shipping outside of vermont let me know.
