Ever wonder what happens to the shortbread that breaks or sticks to the shortbread mold?
We used to hand little pieces out as samples or worse, (yes, this is blasphemous) just throw them in the garbage. Duh! Not anymore. We're now selling our slightly perfect, perfectly delicious factory second shortbread just like the big Vermont foods dudes, Ben and Jerry's or Champlain Chocolates do.
Last Friday at the Big E, a marketing genius passing by suggested I sell the crumbs in my sample basket as a topping for ice cream. I didn't get his name, but I latched right on to his idea. So, Big E marketing dude, if you're reading this, I owe you one. Guess what I'm thinking? How about shortbread pieces IN ice cream? This idea deserves a little nurturing...a joint venture with a small gourmet ice cream company, perhaps?
Anyway, put your "crummy" shortbread on ice cream, in yogurt, or even pour milk on it and eat it like cereal. Any way you slice it, we sell the best shortbread on the planet.
Hundreds of Big E tasters can't be wrong.
Now go see for yourself and order some slightly imperfect, perfectly delicious Vermont Shortbread factory seconds*, today.
Yeah, enjoying shortbread "mistakes" is a "crummy" job...but someone's got to do it! Why not you?

I'm thinking shortbread crumbs dipped in chocolate (to keep them from getting soggy) in the ice cream. Hmm, I think I need a snack! :)

Check out Island Home Made Ice Cream. They may like to add shortbread flavored ice cream to their list of premium flavors.
